Consequence feat. Kanye West, Common, KiD CuDi, John Legend, and Big Sean – Whatever U Want (G.O.O.D. Music Remix)
The G.O.O.D. Music fam takes over Consequence’s latest single, “Whatever U Want”. The original version features production and a verse from Kanye and John Legend; but for the remix, Cons gets some help from Common, Cudi, and newcomer Big Sean. Consequence’s second album, Cons TV is slated to drop this year.

Seeing is Believing 10/24: New Common Video
24 10 2009Common feat. Cee-Lo – Make My Day
Though Common’s Universal Mind Control was released 10 months ago, he’s still putting out videos for the album. “Make My Day” was one of my favorite cuts off the album, with the video being released today. The artsy video dropped out of nowhere, but we’re not complaining since this track still sounds nice!

Album Review: Common – Universal Mind Control
10 12 2008Earlier this year, Common made the announcement that his upcoming album will not be as conscious as his prior releases, and it will not feature any production from Kanye West. Common’s last two albums Be and Finding Forever were almost fully produced by Kanye, and their undeniable chemistry helped revitalize Common’s career. On Common’s latest LP Universal Mind Control, Com decided to collaborate with The Neptunes to create feel good music. From the start of Common Sense’s catalog, he branded himself as a smooth, lyrical, conscious MC. With Common’s change of music direction, will fans find this album mind controlling or will it share the same criticism as Electric Circus?

Takin’ Em Back – 12/5
5 12 2008Common – I Used To Love H.E.R.
Like yesterday’s Be blog, I’m posting another entry in honor of the release of Universal Mind Control this Tuesday. Before “The Light”, “The Corner”, or “The People”, Common made one of the best hip hop tracks of all time. “I Used to Love H.E.R.” tells the story of hip hop’s evolution, except Com is referring to hip hop as a girl. Common even references the west coast era of hip hop in this track which sparked the unlikely feud with Ice Cube. This track is purely timeless!
