Takin’ Em Back – 11/27

27 11 2009

Hope you all are enjoying your Black Friday and good ol Thanksgiving left overs. For today’s throwback joint, I’m posting the first single off of Jay’s Vol. 3 album “Do It Again”. This was the track that introduced Beanie and Amil to the mainstream Hip Hop scene and help launch their careers. Since then, Amil has been missing and has been rumored to be working at K-Mart. As for Beans, he’s been putting out diss tracks and airing out Jay for not being a loyal mentor and has been working with 50 Cent. Coincidentally, Beanie Sigel was brought out on Black Friday management, along with Philly native Eve. What a difference a decade makes amongst labelmates.

What’s Beef: Beanie Sigel Drops Two Diss Joints to Jay-z

23 11 2009

Beanie Sigel – How I Can Kill Jigga Man/Think BIG

It seems that the beef that started last month between former Roc=a-Fella artist Beanie Sigel and Jay continues. Over this past weekend, Beanie Sigel dropped two diss tracks towards Jay-z titled “How I Can Kill Jigga Man” and “Think BIG”. On “How I Can Kill Jigga Man”, Beans hops on Cypress Hill’s classic “How I Can Kill a Man” and rips it while taking shots at Hov. Sigel fires shots at Jay-z and also tells Memph Bleek to stop bitchin on “Think BIG” . Ironically, this is the fourth track with Beanie getting at Jay but he is still yet to respond on wax.

Jay links up with Robin Thicke on the French inspired track “Meiple” (pronounced Me I Play). Similar to Jamie Foxx’s “Speak French”, Jay drops some clever metaphors referencing the French language and culture.
Robin Thicke’s fourth album Sex Therapy is expected to drop this year with “Meiple” appearing on it. Aside from Jay-z, Nicki Minaj will appear on the album while Polow Da Don, Robin Thicke, and others will provide production for the LP.

Hip Hop’s bad guy calls the Gomez Bros. to drop some real talk about his album leaking, his “So Disrespectful” diss track, and the Beanie Sigel and Jay-z situation that has the net buzzin. He remains neutral as to who’s right and who’s wrong with Beanie’s accusations, but he does co-sign Beanie on the Young Gunz getting ripped off for their show money. He also announces that Before I Self Destruct will now be in stores November 16th. Check out the full interview below.

What’s Beef: Beanie Sigel Vs Jay-z – Jay-z Speaks!

31 10 2009

Jay-z Responds to Beanie Sigel Diss

If you’ve been under a rock, Beanie Sigel dropped an unexpected diss track towards Jay about how he didn’t take care of his labelmates and didn’t reach out to him while he was locked up. The following day, Charlamagne the God interviewed Beanie Sigel and he spoke about the incident with inspired him to get in the booth and rap about it. Late last night, footage of a interview hit YouTube with Jay addressing Beanie Sigel. He didn’t have nowhere near as much as Beanie had to say about the situation, but check the video below:

Seeing is Believing 10/30: Empire State of Mind

30 10 2009

Jay-z & Alicia Keys – Empire State of Mind Vodpod videos no longer available.

The video for Jay’s current jawn is finally here. The video for the track is exactly how I pictured it; black and white footage and classic images of NY. “Empire State of Mind” is one of the best city anthems in a minute, and was ever performed at the Yankee Stadium in honor of the Yankee’s who made it to the World Series. Beanie Sigel Interview with Charlamagne The God
Beanie Sigel
Late last night the diss track titled “I Ain’t Ya Average” had the internet goin’ nuts with Beanie Sigel unexpectedly getting at Hova. Though he clearly explains the diss in the song, people are still wondering the full story behind Beanie’s aggression. Beanie Sigel stops by to do an interview with Charlamagne the God thoroughly explaining the method to his madness and how Jay treated him and the State Property fam!

What’s Beef – Beanie Sigel Disses Jay-Z

29 10 2009

Beanie Sigel – I Aint Ya Average (Jay-Z Diss)
Beanie Sigel n Jay-z
The Broad Street Bully calls out his former mentor and labelmate Jay-Z. The diss caught Hip Hop fans by surprise since Jay is the one who showed Beanie the ropes and everything appeared to be all good. Apparently, while Sigel was away on his bid, he felt that Jay didn’t hold him down and also held him back from advancing in his career. Beanie has been lowkey though he released an album titled Broad Street Bully, and made an impressive appearance on Raekwon’s last joint; but he’s breaking his silence with this diss!

The duo that brought you “Big Pimpin'”, “The Bounce”, and joints off of the Blueprint 3 collab once again for Timbaland’s forthcoming Shock Value 2 album. This time Keri Hilson lends vocals to the track, while Jay comes in with his usual clever references. Timbalands current single “Morning After Dark” has already made it’s way to radio airplay with the album dropping November 23rd, with artists such as Justin Timberlake, Drake, Lil Wayne, and others expected to appear.
