Girls, Girls, Girls: Chick of the Week 11/30 – Sade Adu

30 11 2009

I’m taking yall back with today’s Chick of the Week with the beautiful lead singer of Sade. Sade is hails from London, England and is of Nigerian and British descent. From the mid 80’s to the late 90’s, Sade flooded the Soul/Jazz/R&B game melodic hits and a distinctive sound. Her smooth voice and pretty face set her aside from other female singers during that era. Though it’s been over 9 years since her band’s put out an album, she is still recognized as a music icon and is still hot. She’s working on a new album Soldier of Love (album cover inside) that is due out February 2010.

Alicia Keys – Empire State of Mind Pt. II (Broken Down)

Recently Alicia Keys announced that she will be doing a sequel to her and Jay’s current smash, Empire State of Mind for her upcoming album. This time around, Alicia drops what sounds more like the piano version of the record excluding Jay. Hov or not, the song still sounds epic and will be on her upcoming The Element of Freedom album dropping December 15th.

Jay links up with Robin Thicke on the French inspired track “Meiple” (pronounced Me I Play). Similar to Jamie Foxx’s “Speak French”, Jay drops some clever metaphors referencing the French language and culture.
Robin Thicke’s fourth album Sex Therapy is expected to drop this year with “Meiple” appearing on it. Aside from Jay-z, Nicki Minaj will appear on the album while Polow Da Don, Robin Thicke, and others will provide production for the LP.

6 11 2009

Rihanna
The past couple of days videos from the highly talked about interview with Rihanna and Diane Sawyer leaked to the net. The interview built some anticipation since we rarely hear Rihanna speak period, let alone about her infamous beatdown by her dude Chris Brown. We all watched Chris Brown’s side on CNN, now hear Rihanna’s side of the story as she describes what went down that night. Continue reading to peep the FULL interview
