Method Man & Redman drop their second single off of Blackout! 2, “Mrs. International”. “Mrs. International” serves as the albums track for the ladies and features Erick Sermon on the hook. As usual, Meth and Red put humor into their videos by doing their rendition of an old singing group and Redman doing a quick Rick James rendition. If you still haven’t heard the Blackout! 2 album, you definitely have to check it out. Blackout! 2 is in stores now!
The Game feat. Chris Brown, Diddy, Polow Da Don, Mario Winans, Usher & Boyz II Men – Better On The Other Side
Less than 24 hours after the unfortunate passing of Michael Jackson, The Game hooks up with Puff, Polow Da Don, and various R&B artists for a tribute track. The MJ tribute is produced by Aftermath’s DJ Khalil (“Kinda Like a Big Deal”, “I’ll Still Kill”) and was posted on The Game’s Twitter. Very impressive track, and the lyrics are on point.
Nas – It Ain’t Hard to Tell
My throwback joint today is Nas’ “It Ain’t Hard to Tell” off the classic Illmatic album. The joint is still amazing till this day with it’s witty rhymes and swift delivery, and it also features one of my favorite MJ samples. The sample comes from “Human Nature”, one of my favorite Mike tracks, and it can also be heard on SWV’s “Right Here” (to believe Pharrell did ad-libs on there). Superstar Michael Jackson unexpectedly passed today after being rushed to the hospital after suffering from cardiac arrest. The king of Pop was in a coma at UCLA Medical Center, and eventually passed this afternoon. This is a unfortunate day for Music losing one of the greatest entertainers of all time and an overall icon. Throughout the years Michael brought us decades of classic music, unforgettable performances, and was coined the King of Pop.
Actress/Sex symbol Farrah Fawcett passed today as well after losing an ongoing battle with anal cancer. Fawcett died at the age of 62, almost 6 hours before MIchael Jackson’s death.

As far as apperances go, he’s got Tyrese and Bun-B featured on this joint. The back cover artwork (as seen inside) reminds me of Lloyd Banks’ Hunger For More back cover. Kweli & Hi-Tek bounce back out of nowhere with their video titled “Back Again”. I’ve been waiting for a follow up LP to 2000’s Train of Thought, and my prayers are answered with their new album Revolutions Per Minute dropping this later this year.
Nas – Film (Produced by C-Sick)
A young producer from the Chi was picked won a contest last year titled the Big Tune 2008. The 18-year old producer named C-Sick was rewarded the privilege to produce a track for Nas. The reward resulted in today’s Dope or Nope entry, titled Film.
