What’s Beef: Rick Ross Brushes Off 50 Diss, 50 Sends Out a Warning Shot

31 01 2009

Thursday night 50’s “Officer Rickey” premiered on Hot 97 which was his first diss track to Rick Ross and a challenge for Lil’ Wayne. Wayne has yet to respond, but Rick Ross responded the following morning during a radio interview with Angela Yee on Shade45. Not only did he speak on the origins of this “feud”, he also gives 50 48 hours to come with something harder than “Officer Rickey”.

Hit up the full story for the interview and 50’s response.

What’s Beef: 50 Cent Vs. Rick Ross

30 01 2009

50 Cent – Try Me (Officer Ricky)

And so it begins! Earlier this week Ross’ street single “Mafia Music” hit the net (unfortunately Blogger took my shit down and did NOT let me know, them and their damn surprises) and Ross makes a reference to 50’s house being burned down by his Babymoms. Fifty, being the villainous artist that he is, thrives off of disses and any subliminal lines there’s no hesitation in him responding. One would think shortly after being exposed as a C.O. and having contradictory lyrics, Ross would keep a low profile from dissing. 50 uses Rick Ross’ prior career as the theme to this diss track and also disses Khaled and calls out Wayne. Thank Rick Ross for help promoting Before I Self Destruct.

Dope or Nope 1/5 – 50 Gets It In (Updated w/ CDQ)

News: Kanye Strikes Again, 50 Cent Not Ready To Self Destruct

14 11 2008

Kanye West Arrested in England

Kanye West is currently in England doing the international Glow in the Dark Tour, and was arrested after an incident involving a photographer outside of a British nightclub. Though Kanye was arrested and detained, he was later released without any charges.
In other Kanye news, it appears that 808’s & Heartbreak has leaked. Since Ye was salty about “RoboCop” leaking, hopefully he decides to move the album up a week since it leaked a almost two weeks prior to the release date. 808’s & Heartbreak will be in stores November 24th!

50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct Gets Pushed Back

Fifty’s fourth album Before I Self Destruct was scheduled to be released December 9th. However, it will now be released in early 2009. 50 had this to say about the album’s delay “Times are hard. Everyone is trying to make the most of what they have. I want to give my fans something extra for their hard earned dollars. They’ll get a free bonus when they pick up the album.” A film sharing the same title of the album will be included in the deluxe version of Before I Self Destruct, and recently added was another DVD titled “Two Turntables and a Microphone: The Life and Death of Jam Master Jay”; a documentary about Jam Master Jay, who helped start Fif’s career.
The album delay is questionable since Before I Self Destruct was said to have been completed already. We may have another Curtis on our hands.

Polls Is Talkin’: The Most Anticipated Fall Release Is…

23 10 2008

Bases off a poll asking what is the most highly anticipated Fall release, Kanye West won by a long shot. It was obvious that that was the most hyped since 808s & Heartbreak has been the biggest topic on all hip hop sites. With everyone curious to see if this album will be a hit or miss, it will definitely do good numbers. 808s and Heartbreak will easily be one of the more interesting albums this year. And no, that’s not the album cover, just a sample I threw together. Click the link below to see the interesting results.

Dope or Nope 9/30: New 50

30 09 2008

50 Cent – 50 For President

Looks like Fif is swagger jackin Murs’ campaigned theme (Murs For President) with “50 for President”. It seems like politics on everyone’s mind these days which even has Curtis dropping political music. Overall it’s a coo track. Before I Self Destruct will be in stores December 9th.

50 Mocks Love LockDown

14 09 2008

At a recent show, funnyman 50 Cent mocked Kanye West by “delivering his new single” which turned out to be Kanye’s “Love LockDown”; the much talked about new single from Kanye’s upcoming “808’s & Heartbreak” album. Fif claims “when you stop fuckin’ with him, that’s what you stuck with” while the audience screamed “Fuck Kanye!” 50 also announced the release date for his fourth album “Before I Self Destruct” which set to drop December 9th; a week before from Kanye’s. It’s easy to tell when G-Unit affiliated release is on the way when the beef and taunting starts. Looks like 50 is trying to stir up some early controversy to build up to his new release (yawns). Kanye Vs. 50 Cent again?
