Dope or Nope 8/23 – New Jay & Drake

23 08 2009

Jay-z feat. Drake – We Off That (Produced by Timbaland)
Jay-z
Aside from the singles off Blueprint 3, “We Off That” is the first track to leak from the album. Originally “We Off That” was supposed to be the first single, but Hov switched it up and dropped “D.O.A.” and “Run This Town” instead. When people got word that this was supposed to be the single off the album, fans had mixed feelings about featuring Drake on a lead single. It turns out that the anticipated guest spot was only on the hook. Timbaland lends production on this club banger giving Blueprint 3 a balanced sound with all the tracks that have leaked so far. Which track are you feeling the most, “D.O.A.”, “Run This Town”, or “We Off That”?
Big ups to my nigga Nyt for puttin me up on this track!

Takin’ Em Back – 8/21

21 08 2009

Eminem – My Name Is
Vodpod videos no longer available.

I've been listening to Eminem's discography all week which reminded of how insane Eminem's lyrical ability is. His debut album Slim Shady LP, was original, shocking, and featured classic punchlines. I’m posting the video that started it all, and branded Eminem as a lyrical, yet comical MC “My Name Is”. Like most of Eminem’s lead singles, he pokes fun at many celebrities in the limelight, but still manages to drop impressive lyrics. In other Slim Shady news, his follow up to Relapse will not be released in November as expected. There’s no word on when Relapse 2 will be released, but it is still in the works.

Girls, Girls, Girls – Chick of the Week 8/17: Tahiry

17 08 2009

Tahiry 1Last week Joe Budden dropped two albums; his web release Escape Route and the posse album, Slaughterhouse. While Joe has a rep on the net for dropping witty lyrics and conceptual tracks, he has a even bigger rep for the chick on his arm, Tahiry.
Tahiry first caught the attention of Budden fans by appearing on Joey’s Vlog (video blog), Joe Budden TV. Of course people knew her as Budden’s chick, but what made her gain more recognition was her bangin’, all natural, backside. The curvy Dominican then spread over the Web with her exotic image and a fat booty. Since her exposure, she’s been the talk of the net, appeared in the final issue of KING Magazine, and has her own spin-off website called TahiryTV.com.
