I’ve been hearing this song alot lately for some odd reason. Ironically, I still love it. Eventhough “Bad Boy couldn’t work the Lox”, everyone went in on this track, including Lil’ Kim. The Biggie verse at the end wraps the joint up perfectly. No Way Out is arguably a classic, agree or disagree?
I’m taking it way back with this one. The other night I was rudely awakened by some broad (still dunno who it was), and then a nigga had insomnia. Wasn’t nothing on TV but one of my guilty pleasures “The Last Dragon”. It was my first time seeing it in a minute and I forgot how fine Vanity was playing Bruce Leeroy’s love interest. Here is the list for those of you his missed the countdown on VH1. I dont necessarily agree with it all seeing that they put “Hot in Herre” much higher than “Children Story” “I Used to Love HER” and “One Love”, but to each is own. I’m liking how number one was “Fight the Power”. Not only is it a timeless track, it’s also monumental and it shows unity amongst African Americans standing up for what they believe in. Mobb Deep – Shook Ones Pt. II
I was listenin’ to Pandora radio at work (if you aren’t up on it, you need to hit that up), and I came across one of my favorite joints from the Infamous album by Mobb Deep. No lie, I first heard the Infamous some time this year and it made me wonder where the hell was I when it dropped? Hearing an album that dropped over a decade ago and it’s still listenable today is a classic and passed the test of time. Therefore I bring you today’s throwback track, “Shook Ones Pt. II”.

LL Cool J feat. Method Man and Redman, and DMX – 4,3,2,1
Since LL dropped an album this week it reminded me of one of my favorite joints ever. Two reasons why this song is so sick; one, it introduced DMX to the hip hop world, and the second is it sparked the beef with LL and Canibus. Originally Canibus had a line referring to LL’s mic tatt, LL took offense to it and went in on Canibus on his verse. Canibus rewrote his verse excluding the LL line, but LL kept his verse he wrote causing LL to diss Canibus on the same track they appeared on.
I had to throw in the remix which featured Methodman and Redman, DMX, Canibus, and Master P!

This was my joint! This jawn took me right back to middle school when I used to bump this on a regular. Timbo’s been killin the production game for over 10 years. Did anyone peep the cameo’s with Aaliyah and Static Major together?
I was watching Lil Wayne’s World on Fuse TV, which was an hour show dedicated to Lil Wayne videos. They kicked off the show with Lil Wayne’s debut single “Tha Block Is Hot” which made me post this up in today’s throwback joint. You can definitely see how Weezy evolved from his first joint.
