Remember when Ruff Ryders was one of the sickest crews in the game? Dope stuff right? Jada replaces OJ Da Juiceman (thank God) with his old squad (The Lox, DMX, Swizz, Drag-On, and even Eve) for the remix of his latest single, “Who’s Real?”. Hopefully this remix will inspire rap crews to get back together and put out some material. Jay-z Peforms D.O.A. @ Hot97 Summer Jam

As usual New York’s Hot97 maintains it’s reputation for having surprises at its annual Summer Jam concert. This year Jay hit up Summer Jam to perform “Death of Autotune” that has the internet going nuts. Alongside Jay is Young Jeezy and ironically, T-Pain who can easily be mistaken on Hov’s anti-auto-tune track. Prior to performing his latest track he performed his verse for the remix of Jeezy’s “Put On”.

The Black & Korean beauty is currently wrapping up her fourth album In Love & War, and plans on putting out a first single titled “Why R U?”. The highly anticipated (as of today) street single from Hov is here! The track is titled “D.O.A. (Death of Autotune)” putting an end to the excessive use of the autotune in hip hop. Ironically the track was produced by Kanye West, who made a complete autotuned album, and No I.D.. Jay also shouts out Wayne who uses the autotune heavily. This is a dope way to kick off Blueprint 3 dropping this September 11th!

All this week I’ve been bumping the new BlaKQout album by Quik & Kurupt and it’s a banger. The album is filled with that West Coast vibe that’s been missing from hip hop over the past few years. That brings us to our throwback for the day, Kurupt’s “We Can Freak It”. This joint still bangs till this day and I’m loving the smooth BattleCat production. The Los Angeles Lakers take on the Orlando Magic’s tonight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Game 1 will be televised on ABC.
