R.I.P. 2pac (1971-1996)

13 09 2008

I find it hard to believe it’s been 12 years from today since we lost the legendary Tupac Shakur. Though he is not here he lives eternally thru his music. We will forever remember Pac’s music, impact, and legacy. Check one of my favorite Pac joints below:

Dope or Nope 9/13: New Scarface!

13 09 2008

Scarface – Forgot About Me feat. Lil’ Wayne & Bun-B

New Scarface with Lil Wayne, now known as “Featuring Lil Wayne”, and Houston homie Bun-B. Dope track off Face’s upcoming album Emeritus.

Takin’ Em Back – 9/12

12 09 2008

LL Cool J feat. Method Man and Redman, and DMX – 4,3,2,1

Since LL dropped an album this week it reminded me of one of my favorite joints ever. Two reasons why this song is so sick; one, it introduced DMX to the hip hop world, and the second is it sparked the beef with LL and Canibus. Originally Canibus had a line referring to LL’s mic tatt, LL took offense to it and went in on Canibus on his verse. Canibus rewrote his verse excluding the LL line, but LL kept his verse he wrote causing LL to diss Canibus on the same track they appeared on.

I had to throw in the remix which featured Methodman and Redman, DMX, Canibus, and Master P!

Kanye West – Love LockDown (Mastered Version)

Kanye West – Love LockDown (Mastered)

The “mastered” version is finally here. It sounds the exact same as the one that leaked a couple of days ago. But here it is…

Dope or Nope 9/11: New Ludacris!

12 09 2008

Ludacris – Undisputed (Co-Starring Floyd Mayweather)

This goes hard! This is an ideal intro track and it’s set to be the next video by Luda. Producer Don Cannon kills the beat as usual.

Props to: OnSmash

News: Kanye West Gets LockDown, Hell Rell Dips Out

11 09 2008

Kanye West Gets Arrested @ LAX

Kanye West was arrested at LAX this morning after an altercation with a photographer. Kanye and his road manager broke a $10,000 camera resulting in his arrest for vandalism. The scuffle started after Kanye was irritated by a photographer taking his picture. A TMZ photographer caught the incident on tape:

Kanye was arrested and will be released on 20k bail. I guess he really does hate these niggas more than the nazi’s!

Hell Rell No Longer Affiliated with Dipset

In a recent interview with HipHopGame.com, Hell Rell spoke about his plans, him being underrated, and most importantly announced his departure with the Diplomats. Hell Rell the Top Gunna is more interested in shining on his own and his plans on launching his new website.

Seeing Is Believing 9/10 – New Ludacris & Q-Tip Vids!

11 09 2008

Ludacris feat. Chris Brown & Sean Garrett – I Know What Them Girls Like

Luda’s first single off Theater of the Mind. The song is so-so, but the chicks in the video are on point.

Q-Tip – Gettin’ Up

First single off Q-Tip’s second solo album The Renaissance due out Nov. 4th. I like this track and video, nice mellow type joint.

Dope or Nope 9/10: New Jadakiss & Killa Cam!

10 09 2008

Jadakiss feat. Jay-z – Who Run This

Finally some new Jada, he’s been a lil lowkey lately. The song features Jay, but no verse here; just some words from the Jiggaman. Jadakiss third solo album Kiss My Ass sounds like a sure thing now.

Cam’Ron – Bottom Of The Pussy Hole

It’s been a while since we heard from Cam’ron but he’s expected to drop his new joint Crime Pays this November. Check out this new joint “Bottom Of The Pussy Hole”. LOL @ that title.

Seeing is Believing 9/9: Maino – Hi Hater Remix Video

10 09 2008

Maino feat. T.I. Fabolous, Plies, Jadakiss, and Swizz Beats – Hi Hater Remix

The official video for the official Hi Hater Remix. The video is like the ’08 version of “Flava In Ya Ear Remix”. Semi-fresh, but the white background videos has been done a lil too much.

News: Kanye’s New Album is Official and The Return of MF Doom

Kanye Names Album & Sets a Release Date

While many thought Kanye was going to go with his original plan of naming his album Good Ass Job (it was supposed to be in the sequence of attending school, then graduating), Kanye has decided to name is album 808’s & Heartbreak. The lead single “Love LockDown” was peformed this past Sunday at the VMA’s (click here if you’ve been under a rock and haven’t seen or heard it). Sounds interesting. I’m curious to see what Ye will drop on this one. 808’s & Heartbreak will his in stores right in time for the holiday season on December 16th. Is it me, or do the save all the dope shit for the last quarter?

UPDATE: 808’s & Heartbreak is rumored to be similar to Andre 3000’s The Love Below, and will have auto-tune (T-Pain’s signature style) through the entire album. I love The Love Below, but I’m not too hyped about the auto-tune. T-Pain definitely created a monster, but leave it up to Mr. West it will come out amazing.

MF Doom to Drop a New Album

Masked MC MF Doom is set to drop a new album titled “Born Into This” on October 21st. This will be his first album since 2005’s “The Mouse and the Mask”, his collaboration album with DangerMouse; recorded under the name DangerDoom. The album will feature production the late J Dilla, Dangermouse, and more than likely Doom himself. It will also feature appearances from Wu-veterans Raekwon and Ghostface Killah. Speaking of which, where in the hell is the Swift & Changeable album that Doom & Ghost were supposed to drop together?
