Dope or Nope 6/1 – I’m Goin’ In!

1 06 2009

Drake feat. Lil’ Wayne & Young Jeezy
drake-lil-wayne

This joints been out for a minute but originally had Wayne as the only featured guest. Eventually the official version appeared on Jeezy’s Trappin Ain’t Dead mixtape (click here to get it) with a Jeezy verse added. Unfortunately the track had tags, but the official tagless version is here. I’m not sure if it will appear on Drake’s upcoming Thank Me Later album, but regardless the joint is nice!

Takin’ Em Back – 5/29

29 05 2009

Goodie Mob feat. Big Boi – Get Rich To This

I’m a lil late with this one, but better late than never. This weeks throwback video is Goodie Mob’s “Get Rich To This”. No matter how old this joint is, it still go’s!
On a sidenote, where has Goodie Mob been? Cee-Lo’s been enjoying his success with his eccentric duo Gnarls Barkley, Big Gipp partnered up with Ali of St. Lunatics, and T-Mo and Khujo formed The Lumberjacks. A Goodie Mob reunion is much needed this day and age.

What’s Beef: Conflict Vs. Charles Hamilton

29 05 2009

conflict
From taking a Soulja Boy comparison as an insult, to referring to Rhymefest in a battle, to airing out his assistant/ladyfriend, it seems like Charles Hamilton doesn’t hold his tongue. With that being said, Charles recently made a reference to the West Coast which caught the attention of my boy Conflict. The Bludivision artist dropped a response track titled “Charlie” going in on Charles Hamilton. The reference was made on Charles Hamilton’s “Crack a Blogger” sampling Em’s “Crack a Bottle”. Con hi-jacks the track for his diss towards Charles.

The Numbers Are In…

28 05 2009

519 releases
Last Tuesday, May 19th; various hip hop artists dropped albums. Some of those artists include Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Method Man & Redman, and mixtape veteran DJ Drama. Eminem has a reputation for successfull album sales and was highly likely to have the number one spot this past week. Eminem already surpasses gold status with his Relapse album. There was a mistake with the charts putting Method Man & Redman at number 4, when they are actually at spot number 7, leading to Busta Rhymes outselling the duo. Continue reading for the numbers!

Takin’ Em Back – Mack 10 – Backyard Boogie

22 05 2009

Since Summer is almost here and pool parties have been poppin off lately, it’s only right I hit you with this throwback Mack 10 video for “Backyard Boogie”. After 12 years, this joint still sounds nice making me miss 90’s West Coast music.
