Jay’s second Brooklyn track this month (see last Monday’s DoN Brooklyn (Go Hard)). I’m not sure if this will be featured on Blueprint 3 or the Notorious Soundtrack, hence the Biggie shout outs. What’s good peoples, hope you all had a fun and safe weekend. As usual, I’m upping my weekly eye candy which goes to the curvy Jesikah Maximus. Earlier this week I was passing thru 2dopeboyz (dope site by the way) NFL Predictions blog. Attached to their NFL blog is eye candy similar to my Chick of the Week blogs, and last week they had a sexy beach shot of Jesikah Maximus (the photo is in the full story). Like yesterday’s Be blog, I’m posting another entry in honor of the release of Universal Mind Control this Tuesday. Before “The Light”, “The Corner”, or “The People”, Common made one of the best hip hop tracks of all time. “I Used to Love H.E.R.” tells the story of hip hop’s evolution, except Com is referring to hip hop as a girl. Common even references the west coast era of hip hop in this track which sparked the unlikely feud with Ice Cube. This track is purely timeless!

Rest In Peace: Pimp C

Believe it or not, it’s been a year since Chad Butler aka Pimp C was found dead in his Hotel room from an accidental overdose. He was one half of the Houston duo UGK, and built a reputation pimp filled lyrics and being outspoken in interviews. UGK fans wondered if the death of Pimp C would have an effect on UGK’s music, but Bun-B is still hard at work on the duo’s upcoming album UGK 4 Life. Read the rest of this entry »

Also, Happy Birthday to the Jiggaman. Jay-z makes 39 today, proving that there is a such thing as longevity in hip hop. While other artists took shots at Jay for his age, I consider that an accomplishment to be above the average age in rap and still highly active. The Blupeprint 3 drops February ’09!
