Kriss Kross – Jump
Vodpod videos no longer available.
Remember this from way back when? When youngsta’s actually wore their clothes backwards just to be like Kriss Kross? It sounds silly now but it proves if you have a dope single and present a trend, people will eventually follow. Kriss Kross was gettin’ it in at the age of 13 after being discovered by Jermaine Dupri, and putting out singles like “I Miss the Bus” and today’s throwback joint, “Jump”. Today Kriss Kross is still working with Jermaine Dupri on different projects, and “Jump” was recently sampled by newcomer Nipsey Hussle for “Hussle in the House”.
Soulja Boy & DJ Drama – Follow Me
Call me a hater if you want, but I’m surprised at Soulja Boy’s progression. I thought as soon as “Crank Dat” died down he would be just another one hit wonder. Since then Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em’s been putting out catchy singles making himself remain relevant. This time he links up with Mr Gangsta Grillz himself, DJ Drama; for his Twitter themed mixtape titled “Follow Me”. The mixtape features appearances by his new affiliates Gucci Mane and OJ Da Juiceman. He’s currently working on his new album The DeAndre Way that is set to drop this year. The is rumored to feature Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, and surprisingly Kanye West. Continue reading for the download link and track listing.

Clipse – I’m Good feat. Pharrell (Produced by The Neptunes)

It’s been a long day for me and before I catch some Z’s I’m postin’ this new Clipse and Pharrell joint titled “I’m Good”. “I’m Good” will appear off their forthcoming album Till the Casket Drops, in stores September 8th. Pharrell comes thru for an appearance on the track and a dope piano, synthesized beat. If the album sounds like “I’m Good” and the predecessor “Kinda Like a Big Deal” with Kanye, then this should be the third superb album from the VA duo.
Jadakiss feat. The Lox, DMX, Eve, Swizz Beatz & Drag-On – Who’s Real (Remix)
Remember when Ruff Ryders was one of the sickest crews in the game? Dope stuff right? Jada replaces OJ Da Juiceman (thank God) with his old squad (The Lox, DMX, Swizz, Drag-On, and even Eve) for the remix of his latest single, “Who’s Real?”. Hopefully this remix will inspire rap crews to get back together and put out some material. There’s far too many solo acts in the game right now and the limited collaborations that exist are typically the same artists. Pardon my rant, hit up the link below to check out this remix.

As usual New York’s Hot97 maintains it’s reputation for having surprises at its annual Summer Jam concert. This year Jay hit up Summer Jam to perform “Death of Autotune” that has the internet going nuts. Alongside Jay is Young Jeezy and ironically, T-Pain who can easily be mistaken on Hov’s anti-auto-tune track. Prior to performing his latest track he performed his verse for the remix of Jeezy’s “Put On”.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from the sexy songstress Amerie. Honestly I forgot about her till I hit up ConcreteLoop recently where they featured new music by Amerie. The Black & Korean beauty is currently wrapping up her fourth album In Love & War, and plans on putting out a first single titled “Why R U?”. The pretty faced, petite bodied Amerie made the chick of the week. Continue reading to view more pics!

During the first half of the year we heard albums from names like Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, Method Man & Redman, and more. While some of those were the big name releases of ’09, hip hop fans are wondering what’s around the corner this year for hip hop. SpazAppeal’s got the word on other releases that are slated to drop this year.

Jay-Z – Death of Autotune (CDQ)

The highly anticipated (as of today) street single from Hov is here! The track is titled “D.O.A. (Death of Autotune)” putting an end to the excessive use of the autotune in hip hop. Ironically the track was produced by Kanye West, who made a complete autotuned album, and No I.D.. Jay also shouts out Wayne who uses the autotune heavily. This is a dope way to kick off Blueprint 3 dropping this September 11th!
